I collect found materials, discarded leftovers and remnants of nature: ash, tin cans, prescription pills, twigs, earth dug up from industrial ruins. My work repurposes these remains, alienating them from their past to form new narratives. Growth, transformation and the inevitable decay or destruction of matter generate my sculptures. 

Materials help me make sense of time. I’m interested in how they can carry personal, ecological, and archaeological histories. I’m influenced by the wry, uncanny sculptures of Mona Hatoum and Louise Bourgeois. The Arte Povera movement, particularly the work of Giuseppe Penone also inspires me – his assemblages of organic, industrial and artisanal materials, are what I strive for.
